Ambient Occlusion Pass

Ambient Occlusion Pass

"The other side greeted me with a wall of forest and a new sound of leaves on trees! It's amazing how such a simple thing can lift your spirits! Where is this idyllic forest coming from? It's beautiful and I can almost smell it. And then this seemingly glassy construct with one of these urn like objects in it. Would it be a good idea to touch it? I've seen these all around before. An emerald like green... mass. Judging my strong belief that I was lead here I guess I'm supposed to be here and move on. I was roughly 5 meters into the forest when I heard a hard to locate and very deep horn sound. Beside the softly blowing wind I did not hear a sound since I arrived here. Just my constant inner monologue and the beeps and boops of my gear. But that sound... it almost hurt! I instantly turned around and the urn was gone."

So we made it safely to the other side. This one was actually the base for the scene that came before it chronologically in the series. So I was able to recycle quite some stuff. I still ended up moving a lot of things around and modifying to get the look I was happy with for #30. My aim for this 31st piece was to up the mystery and add some more questions. Some I'm not even sure how to answer yet. =D It's fun. Everytime I run into a dead end I eventually find a way out and suddenly I have to choose from multiple ideas. I want the story to be tight and leave space for an audience to come up with ideas or maybe additional scenes in their head. Trying to keep the written part as short as possible. I'm exploring this place myself for the first time. =) Technically I started using the Blender compositor for certain effects. Experimenting. As always.
