"I'm struck with awe, as the shadows of everwatching huge cruisers pass by on these eternal walls, watching every single move. It's happening. All the data pointed to this. We tickled a giant and now it's moving. A low frequency humming noise. I remember school, learning about the moon landing so many years ago. This could be the same. But no media coverage this time. If something goes wrong, no one will ever notice. If all of this ends well I'm sure it will be repackaged for easy digestion. This could be our first contact. My training covered all options. That low humming noise... seems to have a pattern!"
This one was done to make the story transition move less abrupt. It also gave me the chance to write a little more. Which is kind of fun to do. I used this scene to again learn more Blender. And I did. I'm slowly but surely getting there. Which feels rewarding.
The scene depicts the moment when the tower becomes alive and a door opens in the wall. The 'reaction' they wanted to 'provoke'. As mentioned in an earlier scene. A giant door unfolding where moments before was a wall. It also gave a neat chance to incorporate elements I'd used for later scenes in the series. Establish a look and feel that will carry on or even evolve. I used some of the objects from my abstract collection (to be found in my artstation store) to create a more alien/abstract look. This one was technically quite demanding to me and I'm very happy with the results. Yet again I learned a lot of new things.
